new zealand earth builders ltd. is new zealand's first company specializing in environmentally friendly, cement-free earthbuilding, the light earth technique and earthen plasters.

both florian and christopher have been involved in the eco-building industry for more than 15 years.

florian has a degree in architecture from the technical university of munich, germany. in 1996 he received a major european architecture award (weka prize) for low cost, low energy timber frame systems.
christopher travelled to germany in 1991 and studied traditional european earth building techniques until 1999. during that time he applied his trade to a number of historic buildings in germany.

they formed the partnership earthworth in june 2000 and founded new zealand earth builders ltd. in february 2004.
